| Lake Almanor is located 30 miles West of Susanville, and 70 miles East of Red Bluff, CA. The lake is nestled in a valley surrounded by mountians such as Mt. Lassen, on the North West, and Dyer Mt. on the North East. Pine and Cedar trees are in abundance in the entire area as are many other conifers. There is fishing year round in Lake Almanor and seasonal fishing in many other lakes in the area. The fishing is great! Some lunkers up to 3 feet. Water skiiing and other water sports are in abundance, including sailing, swimming and boating in general. There are three golf courses in the area, and hiking, biking, and snow mobiling. Summer tempatures are in the 80's, and ideal for all water sports and fishing. Lake Almanor is located at 4,500 feet above sea level, so evenings are always cool and comfortable. There are numerious campgrounds and picnic grounds in the area, some are even right on the lake. In Winter season, all roads are open.
